31,000 Kyrgyzstanis expressed willingness to get vaccinated against hepatitis B, Umutkan Chokmorova, Director of Blood-Contact Viral Hepatitis and HIV Control Center, said.

Immunization of adult population against hepatitis B started in December 2022, she said.

“Vaccination is ongoing in outpatient clinics. 31,000 people were tested prior to vaccination. 811 tested positive for hepatitis. We will examine them one more time and will start their treatment. We train all family medicine doctors to provide medical treatment,” she said.

Vaccination of adult population is ongoing across the country. All willing may be vaccinated at place of their residence. Rapid test for hepatitis will be made prior to vaccination.
